About the Project
The new laboratory building at Murtenstrasse 24 to 28 brings together the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IRM) and the Department for Biomedical Research (DBMR), further strengthening Bern’s international position as a leading location in the medical sector. Located in close proximity to the University Hospital, the new building offers modern facilities for research and teaching, as well as infrastructure for the provision of highly specialized services. Various research groups share laboratories and equipment, and the physical closeness particularly fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and the exchange of expertise among specialists.
