References – Geo and environmental research centre of the University of Tübingen
The new geo and environmental research centre of the University of Tübingen houses working groups from applied geo-sciences, minerology and geo-dynamics, as well as paleo biology. The new building combines the research areas of geo and environmental research under one roof, which were previously spread over several locations in the Tübingen urban area. The new building on the southern tip of the Morgenstelle campus thus offers new and future-oriented opportunities for interaction with neighbouring disciplines, such as biology, chemistry or physics – and thus the best conditions for interdisciplinary topics in geo and environmental sciences. On an area of around 10,000 square metres, the centre offers space for laboratories, workshops, seminar rooms, lecture halls and offices. The laboratories were planned as open-plan laboratories with documentation zones and are equipped with state-of –the-art devices, for example for high-resolution mass spectrometry or electron microscopy.
