About the project
The new laboratory building in Wesel, with its user oriented planning and spacious rooms, offers optimum conditions for networking and effective communication. Energy efficiency played a major role in the planning of this complex. By means of near-surface geo-thermal energy, heat pumps and heat recovery systems, the energy consumption can be reduced by as much as 30% compared to traditional buildings. Only proven, sustainable, renewable and easily-recycle building materials were used. Even the heat insulation and the entire ventilation systems comply with the strict energetic standards.
BYK Additives & Instruments was thus able to meet the requirements for LEED pre-certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), Platinum standard, and received the official USGBC (Green Building Council) certificate.
