About the project

At the Material Science Centre for Energy Systems of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, innovative material concepts for efficient energy conversion and storage are developed. The focus is on the development of particle-based materials, such as printable organic solar cells and rechargeable battery systems with high energy and power densities for electro-mobile applications.

Through an interdisciplinary approach involving chemists, physicists, materials scientists, electrical engineers and process engineers, the entire process chain from the molecule to the component is to be considered and processed for industrial applications.
