  • New reference online - HTW Dresden

The newly constructed HTW Dresden building offers optimal conditions for applied teaching and research. On a total area of over 8,000 square metres, a construction materials technology centre with state-of-the-art laboratories for concrete technology, geotechnics, traffic and hydraulic engineering as well as teaching cabinets and PC pools for computer science and mathematics were created. The building also includes office, teaching and workshop areas for the Faculty of Design and a creative centre, thus creating a unique synergy between different disciplines.

The establishment of modern and spacious laboratories not only allows for an improvement in teaching, learning and working conditions, but also promotes interdisciplinary work by spatially combining practice-oriented teaching and applied research at a central location. The modern laboratories enable internships to be made more comprehensive and more vivid. An outstanding example of this is the well in the hydraulic engineering laboratory, which enables students to practically try out the installation of an underwater motor pump using a crane, and the inspection of the well by means of a well camera.

  • New reference online - Fraunhofer Institute for Micro-technology and Microsystems Mainz, Germany

The new building of the Fraunhofer Institute for Micro-technology and Microsystems (IMM), located at the institute's site in Mainz, accommodates a working landscape of ultra-modern research and work rooms for the fields of chemistry, energy and diagnostics, on a surface of approx. 20,000 m²

There, the scientists research system and technology-oriented innovations and hence make a significant contribution to our current “social” challenges such as climate protection, the environment as well as “intelligent mobility” and health.

For this purpose, walk-in fume-cupboards designed in a special size of 6 x 2.5 meters were installed in the laboratory rooms in order to meet the institute's requirements, equipping the rooms with an exceptionally high level of installation of media, supplying a large number of gases at different pressure levels for carrying out the research work. This installation is unique and primarily enables the research and processing of pilot plants and large-scale chemical process reactors.

  • We take responsibility for our environment

For us at Wesemann, issues of ecological sustainability have always been an important part of our business philosophy. New developments, for example, are always checked for their environmental compatibility - we also expect our suppliers to use environmentally friendly technologies and materials and to provide proof of this. Environmental protection is also an issue that is not only perceived, but also lived in the internal processes. The constant striving for further ways of conserving resources is just as much a part of this as the avoidance of emissions, waste and waste water and the return of recyclable materials to the raw material cycle. In our annual environmental statement, we summarize what we have already achieved and formulate anew what we still want to achieve.
