New reference online - Fraunhofer Institute for Micro-technology and Microsystems Mainz, Germany
The new building of the Fraunhofer Institute for Micro-technology and Microsystems (IMM), located at the institute's site in Mainz, accommodates a working landscape of ultra-modern research and work rooms for the fields of chemistry, energy and diagnostics, on a surface of approx. 20,000 m²
There, the scientists research system and technology-oriented innovations and hence make a significant contribution to our current “social” challenges such as climate protection, the environment as well as “intelligent mobility” and health.
For this purpose, walk-in fume-cupboards designed in a special size of 6 x 2.5 meters were installed in the laboratory rooms in order to meet the institute's requirements, equipping the rooms with an exceptionally high level of installation of media, supplying a large number of gases at different pressure levels for carrying out the research work. This installation is unique and primarily enables the research and processing of pilot plants and large-scale chemical process reactors.
